Annual Awards & Installation Banquet
Join us on Friday, Jan. 18, as the Chamber honors its most outstanding members and installs the 2013 Board of Directors. Awards include the Business Person of the Year Award, the James D. Neilson, Sr., Chairman’s Award for Volunteer Service, the Paul Woolman Ambassador of the Year Award, and the Ann Gibson Community Service Award. The event will take place at the Emerald Coast Convention Center.
Destin’s Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon
The 4th Annual Destin’s Bayou, Bay & Back 5K Run/Walk, 10K & Half Marathon will hit the streets on Jan. 25, 2014! It begins at Clement Taylor Park, 131 Calhoun Ave., in Destin, at 7:30 a.m., rain or shine. Awards will be presented to the overall winners, male and female, as well as to winners in multiple age categories. The USATF-certified half marathon, new to the event in 2012, showcases the Choctawhatchee Bay, Destin Harbor, and East Pass, as its course leads runners through Destin, along a 4-mile undeveloped stretch of Okaloosa Island, and back. The 10K course is also USATF-certified. Registration will be available soon, and race details will be posted here.
Multi-Chamber Business Expo & Taste of Okaloosa County
For the sixth year, the four chambers of commerce in Okaloosa County will partner to bring their members the biggest marketing and networking opportunity around - the Multi-Chamber Business Expo & Taste of Okaloosa County. Join us, along with the Crestview Area, Greater Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville Valparaiso Chambers of Commerce, in late February or early March, to see the latest and greatest our area businesses have to offer. The event is free and open to the public. The event will be held March 5, 2013.
Sunset on the Harbor
Sunset on the Harbor, usually held in March or April, kicks off with a Corporate Fishing Challenge, where 4-person teams, 2- person teams, and individuals board a party boat at noon and compete for the largest fish award. The boat docks and unloads its catch, where participants join in a community cookout and other fun activities already underway on the docks.
Destin Area Summer Photo Contest
The 8th Annual Destin Area Summer Photo Contest will take place Thursday, Aug. 1, through Thursday, Sept. 5, 2013. Find winners here. The contest offers locals and visitors the opportunity to share their experiences in and memories of the area. Over the years, contest entries featured children playing in the sand; families enjoying attractions around Destin; beautiful sunsets seen from the harbor, beach, and bay; those fishing from boat and shore; and much more.
Paddle at the Porch - The Destin SUP Cup
On Aug. 17, 2013, Paddle at the Porch returns to the beautiful emerald green waters behind one of Destin's most loved restaurants, The Back Porch Seafood & Oyster House. The event features a three mile recreational race and a six mile elite race, to be followed by awards, food, and fun! This event, new in 2012, was a hit.
PUTToberfest
The 4th PUTToberfest will be held in September 2013. This is one of the Chamber's most popular annual events. Players enjoy a round of miniature golf at the Golf Garden with beer sampling stations set up all along the way. The event also featured a chipping contest, and prizes were awarded.
Annual Chamber Networking Golf Tournament
The Chamber's Annual Networking Golf Tournament is a 4-person scramble. It offers excellent marketing opportunities for all members - avid golfers and non-golfers alike. 2013 details will be announced soon.
Holiday Party
Network, enjoy good food and refreshment, and celebrate the season with other business professionals! Date is Dec. 3, 2013. Details will be announced in early fall.
