Event Description:
The Friends of the Destin Library and the Destin Library will host a presentation by the Okaloosa County League of Women Voters on Thursday, October 4th, at 6:00 PM, concerning the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (Obamacare), that was recently upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court. This program is free and open to the public. Seating will be limited to 40 seats. Light refreshments will be served.

Okaloosa County League of Women Voters President Mary Blackwell will present a multimedia program highlighting this sweeping national healthcare reform act and the current status of the state of Florida with regard to compliance with this law.

Blackwell is a retired Air Force officer and Desert Storm veteran, and has been an Okaloosa County resident since 1996 and an LWVOC member since 1998. In addition to various League leadership positions, Mary served as Adult Committee Chair for Boy Scouts of America Venturing Crew 520 from 2001-06 and is currently Secretary for the Okaloosa County Commission on the Status of Women. She and her husband run a small local business together.
