College students interested in gaining experience in marketing, public relations, or communications are invited to apply for Destin Area Chamber of Commerce non-paid Communications Intern position. This position will provide experiences based on the student’s ability level, hours of participation, and department need. Communications Interns are typically exposed to press release development, outreach experiences (fairs, events, etc.), flyer design, brochure design, committee work, photography, project development, and more.

Requirements
• Candidate must be enrolled in an accredited college program
• Successful completion of college coursework in reporting, Creative Writing, Communications, or a demonstration of strength in one of those areas.
• A minimum 12-week commitment (4-week internship is also available during winter break).
• A minimum 20 hours per week commitment.

Application Process
Candidates are asked to apply for internships at least 2 weeks in advance of anticipated start date.
• Candidate should be prepared to discuss past work experiences, as well as goals for the internship and for life after graduation. Writing samples are required at the interview.
