The Arc of the Emerald Coast announces year seven of its classic car weekend Burning Up The Beaches, coming to town May 4 - 7, with car show central being at Destin Commons. The cars will be in town starting May 4, with the actual car show being held at Destin Commons May 6, from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. The car show is free to the public and will have more than 300 classic cars from all over the US, BMX bicycle stunt shows, vendors, and music. All proceeds benefit The Arc of the Emerald Coast.
"This is our largest fundraiser of the year, as well as the most fun," Donna Tashik, Director of Community Development for the Arc EC and event coordinator said. "We have classic cars come from literally everywhere, New York, Michigan, even California. They cruise the area to different stops on Friday, like a poker run, have a party Friday night, then the big car show on Saturday. The Lokar Car show will be filming an episode at the show for the Velocity Network. Destin Commons is the perfect backdrop, there will be displays by Suncoast Diesel and O'Reillys, the High Rollers BMX stunt team will do two shows, it's a blast, and it's free to the public!" said Tashik.
Classic car enthusiasts can register their cars for the weekend at www.burningupthebeaches.com or call (850) 376-1037. You can also register on May 5, at the registration tent, located in front of Uncle Bucks, from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m., on Friday, May 5, 2017.
