The Destin Library will host a series of hands-on free Family History workshops (Who Is in Your Family Tree?) on Tuesday, September 13th, October 18th, and November 15th, (5:30 ? 7:30 pm) in the library?s computer lab. The programs are free and open to the public. New and repeat registrants are welcome.
Registrants must have a valid library card from any Okaloosa County Public Library (Crestview, Niceville, Valparaiso, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Mary Esther). Registrations will be limited to 18 participants on a first-come registration basis.
Workshop instructors will provide training and support in the use of the FamilySearch website that purports to hold over two billion census records. FamilySearch.org is owned and operated by FamilySearch International, a nonprofit organization affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Who is in your family tree is a question many seek to answer. Millions of people are curious about who their ancestors are and where they came from. Workshop instructors will offer participants an avenue from which to pursue the answers to these and other genealogical questions.
To register for a workshop call the Destin Library at 850-837-8572.
