The Destin Library will host a hands-on free Family History workshop (Who Is in Your Family Tree?) on Thursday, March 22nd, (5:30 – 7:30 pm) in the library’s computer lab. The program is free and open to the public. New and repeat registrants are welcome. Tom and Irene Price will provide training at this workshop.
Registrants must have a valid library card from any Okaloosa County Public Library (Crestview, Niceville, Valparaiso, Destin, Fort Walton Beach, and Mary Esther). Registrations will be limited to 18 participants on a first-come registration basis.
Workshop instructors will provide training and support in the use of the FamilySearch website that purports to hold over two billion census records. FamilySearch.org is owned and operated by FamilySearch International, a nonprofit organization affiliated with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Who is in your family tree is a question many seek to answer. Millions of people are curious about who their ancestors are and where they came from. Workshop instructors will offer participants an avenue from which to pursue the answers to these and other genealogical questions.
To register for a workshop call the Destin Library at 850-837-8572.
