Sacred Heart Hospital on the Emerald Coast Senior Spirit program will host its March Healthy Living Seminar titled “Leg Pain and Arterial Blockage” on Wednesday, Mar. 8, at 10 a.m.
Dr. Huey McDaniel, a vascular surgeon with Coastal Vascular and Interventional, will present on the topic of Peripheral Arterial Disease, most frequently used to describe the narrowing of arteries to the lower limbs and related conditions caused by this disease. It is estimated that 10 to 14 million people in the U.S. suffer from this condition, and it is equally prevalent among men and women.
Dr. McDaniel will also discuss Peripheral Vascular Disease which refers to all of the blood vessels outside the heart, diseases of the arteries and diseases of the veins. Attendees will learn the most effective therapy for improving the symptoms of mild to moderate forms of this disease. After the seminar, attendees will have the opportunity to ask questions and discuss specific symptoms and concerns.
