Michael McCartan is better known as “Mr. Mac” to thousands of children along the Emerald Coast.
McCartan is a multi-dimensional musician and educator whose songs encourage kids to “get moving” and “never stop reading”.
On Tuesday, July 19th, (3:00 PM) “Mr. Mac” will be at the Destin Library to promote the library’s 2016 summer reading program On Your Mark, Get Set … READ!
McCartan, who is from Escambia County, Florida, is a physical education teacher who has also become a much-loved music ambassador for children of all ages.
McCartan continues to teach but also travels the country introducing songs to children in his effort to promote staying fit and active.
“Mr. Mac’s” unique message to libraries is seen as a way to increase audience participation, boost patron satisfaction and promote reading for children of all ages.
