Dear Community Leaders,
On behalf of the Destin Harbor Business Association, we would like to share with you our strong support for initiatives currently underway and those planned for the restoration and preservation of the beaches in Okaloosa County and the City of Destin. Although the primary focus of DHBA is the Historic Destin Harbor District, we are keenly aware of the destruction and devastation our beaches have suffered over the last year and we are equally aware of the impact the beaches have on all aspects of our economy and quality of life.
While debate and obstructionist tactics by a few continue to impede beach renourishment, we want to take this opportunity to go on record in support of your efforts. We also urge all governmental parties involved in renourishment to move at the quickest pace possible in order to avert the potential disaster we face should another major storm set its sights on our region. Finally, we hope your individual and collective efforts will be aimed at both the immediate restoration issues as well as the matter of long-range beach preservation and public safety.
The Executive Committee of the Destin Harbor Business Association has voted unanimously to offer its support and stands willing to offer whatever assistance it can as we all work for the betterment of our community. We thank you for your leadership and, again, urge that your work proceed at the quickest pace possible.
Sincerely,
Frank Burge President Destin Harbor Business Association | |
