Mayor Barker Named Finalist for Florida Mayor of the Year Award

Destin, FL, Oct. 14 - Destin Mayor Craig Barker has been named a finalist for Florida Mayor of the Year Award.
The Florida League of Cities under its "Florida Cities of Excellence" Award Program gives the award.
The Award, which has ten different categories, recognizes and honors outstanding citizens and city leaders, like Mayor Barker, for their great public service. Mayor Barker was judged on his initiative, integrity, vision, innovation, leadership, and commitment during the past year of service to the City of Destin.
Mayor Barker said, "Representing the City of Destin is the single most rewarding experience of my life. I am deeply honored to even be considered to receive an award for something that I am so passionate about!"
The winner of the Mayor of the Year Award will be announced at an Awards Banquet on Nov. 18, at the Hyatt Regency Orlando International Hotel.
