19th Annual Destin Harbor Boat Parade Sets Sail Dec. 11
Destin, FL, Nov. 10 - The Destin Harbor will be dancing in holiday lights on Sunday, Dec. 11, at 6 p.m., as the 19th Annual Destin Boat Parade sets sail. Hosted by the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, Destin Charter Boat Association, and the Destin Harbor Business Association, this yearly event is part of Holiday on the Harbor. The Destin Boat Parade is a magical event for the community and offers a family oriented activity for the holidays.
The decorated boats will line up at 5:30 p.m. to the south of Marina Café by East Pass Towers. The boats will parade west to Harbor Docks and turn north and then parade down the north side of the Harbor towards HarborWalk Marina and the Marler Bridge.
Six entry categories include the following: Private Boat 25 feet and under to include pontoon boats, jet skis, and houseboats; Private Boat 26 feet and above; Charter Boat/Commercial 25 feet and under; Charter Boat/Commercial 26 feet and above; Sailboats (any size); and Tour Boats. Judges will be located at the Lucky Snapper. Immediately following the parade, winners will be recognized at the Lucky Snapper during an award's ceremony.
The entry fee is $25 per boat. All proceeds will be donated to special needs charities designated by the sponsoring organizations. Registration forms are available at HarborWalk Marina, Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, The Community Center, Lucky Snapper, Legendary Marina, and Galati Yacht Sales. The winners of the Middle School Art Contest will be on display along the entrance to the Lucky Snapper. Please come and view these seasonal works of art created by your local middle schools.
