'Tis the Season for Holiday on the Harbor
Destin, FL, Dec. 1 - The Destin harbor will be dancing in holiday lights and cheer as the Holiday on the Harbor celebration kicks off Saturday, Dec. 10, with the City of Destin Street Parade and Sunday, Dec. 11, with the 19th Annual Destin Harbor Boat Parade.
This year's Holiday on the Harbor is presented by EmeraldCoast.com and The Destin Log and is sponsored by AmTrust Mortgage Corporation; Beach TV; Destin Trophy, Inc.; Harrison Contracting Company; Legendary, Inc.; Mix 103; Wave 102; and Wilson-Miller.
Holiday on the Harbor festivities culminate on Saturday, Dec. 31, with a fireworks show and boat cruise. The Dolphin Cruise/Southern Star will board at 7 p.m., after supplying revelers with horns and hats, and the fireworks will begin at 8 p.m. The cruise will be $15 for adults and $5 for children. Children under three will be admitted free. For reservations, call Dolphin Cruise/Southern Star at (850) 837-7741. The fireworks will be shot from Norriego Point and may be enjoyed from many spots along the harbor.
For the second year, Holiday on the Harbor included an Art Contest for area middle school students. This year's winners along with all entries will be on display along the boardwalk in front of the Lucky Snapper. Christmas cards of last year's winners are already on sale for $5 at the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce and will be available at the Lucky Snapper during the Destin Harbor Boat Parade.
