Destin, FL, Jan. 16 - The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce recently promoted Elizabeth Spies to Vice President of Communications.

     “In this profession, it is rare to find a gem like Elizabeth. Her creativity, her balance, her intelligence, when combined with her passion for what we, are a perfect match. This chamber will go a long way with her as a part of its management. The improvements in all aspects of our communications in the short two years she has been here have been tremendous. She’s earned us national recognition through her work. Most importantly, our members love what she’s done, and continues to do, and they love her!” said Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody.

     The promotion signifies new responsibilities in chamber operations, in addition to management of the Chamber’s website, monthly and weekly newsletters, and press releases, and the creation and implementation of the chamber’s marketing plan.

     “The Destin Area Chamber is constantly working to improve our programs and increase value for our members. In early 2007 alone, we will launch a redesigned website, thank all Destin area businesses with a personal visit on Jan. 30, and release our 2007 Tourist Directory & Buyer’s Guide. I’m honored to be given a larger role in building a world-class community one business at a time,” said Spies, who has been employed by the chamber since December 2004 as Director of Communications.
