Destin, FL, April 16 - The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce announces the trademark of its name and logo, along with the names and logos of the Emerald Coast Emerging Leaders and Destin Mayfest.

     “With so many fraudulent companies out there, this protects our organization from misuse by unethical businesses who may attempt to pass themselves off as Destin Chamber-related. Because we must approve any use of our logo by anyone, it protects the integrity of our members who truly believe in what we do by keeping ‘just anyone’ from using our logos and names in any of their advertising,” explained Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody.

     Written permission from the Chamber is required for use of any of these logos, and the logos will now be designated with the ® symbol.

     “We now have legal right to deny use or request the termination of use of our logos and names by anyone we feel operates in unethical practices. It helps with our brand-recognition because it protects our logos and names from being simulated in other arenas. It preserves who we are,” said Moody.
