Chamber President and CEO Receives National Chamber Designation
Destin, FL, Aug. 7 - Destin Area Chamber of Commerce President and CEO Shane Moody recently received the American Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) highest chamber designation - CCE (Certified Chamber Executive). The designation was presented at ACCE’s annual Awards Gala on Aug. 3, in Sacramento, Calif. "Shane's dedication to his profession and our Chamber is reflected in the hard work and effort it took to achieve his Certified Chamber Executive status. The Chamber is very proud of his accomplishments and values the skill and experience he brings to our Chamber," said Chamber Chairman David B. Pleat, Pleat & Perry, P.A. Before undergoing a rigorous process to obtain a CCE, applicants must have six years of senior-level chamber management and must adhere to a code of ethics. The 4-step certification process includes an application, essay, oral presentation, and examination. While the program has been in existence for more than 40 years, 467 professionals have earned this designation. Only 250 are still active in the more than 4,000 chambers of commerce across the country. Only nine CCEs are currently working for chambers in the state of Florida, which has more than 300 chambers of commerce. “By earning your CCE designation, you have officially established yourself among the ranks of exemplary industry leaders, professionals who have dedicated themselves to master the skills and knowledge necessary to achieve excellence in chamber management,” said ACCE President Mick Fleming and 2006 – 2007 Chairman of the Certification Michael S. Neal in a letter to Moody. “It is truly a measure of an individual’s success, as well as a tribute to your chamber, to have successfully challenged your skills, knowledge and character.” Return to 2007 Press Releases.
