Chamber Launches 2nd Annual Destin Area Summer Photo Contest

     Destin, FL, Aug. 20 - An apricot-colored sunset reflected across the Gulf, your grandson digging in the white sugary sand, a once grand sandcastle being toppled by waves, your family enjoying attractions around Destin – whatever the subject, we want to see your Destin area photos!

     On Aug. 22, the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce will launch its 2007 Destin Area Summer Photo contest at www.DestinChamber.com. Whether you visited for a family vacation, a romantic weekend, an afternoon picnic, or you reside here year round, submit your photos showing why you love the Destin area.

     Photos will be divided into three categories for judging, including Best Family Photo, Best Beach Photo, and Best Harbor Photo. An overall winner will also be chosen. Winners will receive a Destin prize package, filled with goodies from the area, and will be featured in our 2008 membership directory and on our website. The Destin Area Chamber Board of Directors and staff, along with The Destin Log photographer Kathy Harrison, will choose the winners.

You may also still view the 336 photos submitted during last year’s contest. The contest is for amateur photographers only and no digitally enhanced photos will be accepted. It ends at 3 p.m. on Sept. 19, 2007. Winners will be announced on the Chamber's website and in the Destin Log the following week.
