Destin Area Chamber Donates $13,500 to Area Non-Profits

     Destin, FL, Nov. 13 - Due to the success of the 29th Annual Destin Seafood Festival sponsored by Legendary, Inc., the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, official organizer of the annual community event, was able to donate $13,500 to area non-profit organizations. The donations were presented at the Chamber’s November Business to Business Breakfast, held Friday, Nov. 9, at the Destin United Methodist Church.

     The donations were based upon the number of people and hours each non-profit organization dedicated to assisting in the festival’s token and admission booths. Those organizations receiving donations included Boy Scout Troop 509; Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast; Canine Companions; Condos For Kids; Covenant Hospice; Destin Family YMCA; Destin History & Fishing Museum; Destin Women's Club; Elder Services of Okaloosa County; Emerald Coast Foundation; Emerald Coast Furever Friends; Emerald Coast Parrot Head Club; Fort Walton Beach High School Dance Team; Greyhounds of America; Hurlburt Spouses Club; Junior League of the Emerald Coast; Destin Rotary Club; Shelter House, Inc.; Sinfonia Gulf Coast; The Philharmonic of Northwest Florida; and Wildlife Rehabilitators Partnership of NW FL, Inc.
