Ribbon Cutting Celebrates the Opening of the Children’s Neighborhood

     Destin, FL, Feb. 20 - On Jan. 28, Destin Area Chamber of Commerce staff and ambassadors gathered to celebrate the opening of Children in Crisis’ Children’s Neighborhood with a ribbon cutting.

     Children In Crisis is a non-profit, 501(c)(3), charity of caring people that want to help with the severe shortage of foster homes in our community. The goal is to build an entire neighborhood of foster homes for the “children in crisis” of Okaloosa and Walton counties. When all phases of construction are complete, the Children’s Neighborhood will include 11 more foster homes, an additional emergency shelter, a neighborhood center, and a recreation center, playground with pavilion, a community center, and transition homes for teens.
