Moody Selected as Ford Foundation Regionalism
and Sustainable Development Fellow Destin, FL, April 25 - Destin Area Chamber President and CEO Shane A. Moody, CCE, IOM, has been selected as a Ford Foundation Regionalism and Sustainable Development (RSD) Fellow.
This exclusive fellowship offers chamber executives a unique opportunity to deepen their understanding of regionalism and sustainable development concepts, policies, and practices, as well as forge new relationships with chamber leaders across the country. Fellows will receive hands-on training, peer knowledge exchange, and research of working models on a range of sustainability issues. The entire experience will guide development of a regional action plan (RAPs) on an issue critical to our region. “Since I began working with the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce in January 2004, our approach has always been regional. We understand that Destin is a regional name, a name many, many visitors associate with this entire area. To be accepted into such a prestigious program that takes a very serious look at regional issues will enhance our Chamber’s approach to regionalism. Add to that the solutions and best practices we’ll gain from other communities, and proven programs that we can work to implement, I am thrilled to have been accepted and represent the Destin area,” said Moody. The 13-month program is funded by the Ford Foundation and managed by the American Chamber of Commerce Executives, the Citistates Group, and the FutureWorks research firm. Moody is one of only 48 chamber executives selected nationally for this program. Return to 2008 Press Releases.
