Ribbon Cutting Celebrates Dedication of Pilot House To Destin History & Fishing Museum

     Destin, FL, May 12 - On April 30, Destin Area Chamber staff and Ambassadors gathered to help the Destin Forward Class of 2008 dedicate a restored pilot house to the Destin History & Fishing Museum with a ribbon cutting.

     The class, which consists of 21 area professionals, took on the restoration of the pilot house as its class project. The pilot house had previously been donated to the museum, but needed much work before it was usable. The class built a foundation and new base for the pilot house, restored its interior, fixed rotten wood on its roof, built stairs and railings, and gave the outside a fresh coat of paint.

     The dedication festivities also included a children’s coloring contest, photo opportunities, and more.
