Destin Area Chamber to Offer its Members Free, NonPartisan Election Information Through Destin.Illumen.org
Website Encourages Local Employers, Employees to Vote
Destin, FL, May 14 - Today, the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce announces the launch of Destin.Illumen.org, a nonpartisan website offering access to information about the 2008 election. With a presidential race, 25 congressional seats, 140 of the 160 Florida legislative seats, and local elected officials up for election in November, the Destin Area Chamber is encouraging local businesses and employees to learn about the candidates and vote.

“This year’s elections will have a big impact on local businesses,” said Destin Area Chamber President and CEO Shane A. Moody, CCE, IOM. “We are providing Destin.Illumen.org to ensure employers and employees have easy, one-stop access to information about the candidates and issues that will be on the ballot. We encourage everyone to take action and become informed before you go to the voting booth.”

Destin.Illumen.org offers a variety of election tools, including:
• Zip code-to-district matching to connect site users to information about their candidates and polling places
• Bipartisan candidate biographical information
• A voter registration tool
• Links to election resources

The new website is available by entering http://Destin.Illumen.org into your browser or may be accessed by clicking on the Vote for Florida logo on the home page of the Chamber’s website located at www.DestinChamber.com.
