Florida Chamber Honors Gaetz with Distinguished Advocate Award

     Destin, FL, July 24 - Shane Moody, President and CEO of the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce, presented Sen. Don Gaetz with the Florida Chamber of Commerce’s Distinguished Advocate Award during the Okaloosa County Economic Development Council Meeting on July 17.

     This award is given to legislators who championed key Florida Business Agenda legislation during a legislative session.

     “Okaloosa County and the Destin area are privileged to have a state senator like Don Gaetz. His support of the business community in the state of Florida earned him the much deserved Distinguished Advocate Award from the Florida Chamber of Commerce,” said Moody.

     Gaetz was one of 14 winners in 2008 given this recognition for his sponsorship of legislation helping Florida small businesses turn ideas into usable products or services in the marketplace.

     “Being Northwest Florida’s Chamber Executive Liaison for the Florida Chamber, I can tell you they do not take these awards lightly,” said Moody. “It is a true honor for Senator Gaetz.”
