Chamber Announces Promotion of Garner to Director of Events

     Destin, FL, Jan. 5 - The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce recently promoted Risa Garner to Director of Events.

     “Risa’s work with the Chamber is recognized by all who work with her on our events from Seafood Festival to the breakfasts, really on anything we do as a Chamber. I hear daily from our members how much they like her and, more importantly, how much they respect what she does. She truly is a major factor in our organization’s success. And having success in today’s business environment is something that can’t be overlooked. She more than deserves this promotion,” explained Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody.

     Garner will continue to oversee all details and sponsorships relating to Chamber events, including the monthly Business to Business Breakfasts and Business After Hours, as well as the annual Golf Tournament, Business Expos, Destin Seafood Festival, and more. She will also administer the Chamber’s special programming, including the Destin Forward program, the Military Affairs Committee, and Emerald Coast Emerging Leaders.

     “I am very excited about my new promotion to Director of Events. I look forward to the new challenges and opportunities for growth that this position will afford me.
