JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop and Resume Class will be at the Chamber

     Destin, FL, Aug. 5 - The JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop will be at the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce on Sept. 1, from 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. JobsPlus will also offer “Job Searching and Resumes for Today’s Market,” two, one-hour résumé classes, in the chamber conference room at 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. The general public and veterans are encouraged to attend.

     The JobsPlus mission is to ensure that every citizen has the opportunity and skills necessary to engage in meaningful employment throughout Okaloosa and Walton counties, and that every business has access to educated, trained, and prepared employees that meet their needs.

     The 40 foot diesel JobsPlus Mobile One-Stop vehicle is equipped with 12 computer stations with internet access via satellite, flat screen televisions for training and class presentations, outdoor canopy, sound system, and a generator to provide its own power. JobsPlus also has three career centers, which are located in Fort Walton Beach, Crestview, and DeFuniak Springs.

     Job seekers will have access to JobsPlus resources, including job listings, labor market information, education and training information, and even Career Success Workshops, aboard the mobile unit while at various locations and community events throughout the year.

     Businesses will be able to utilize JobsPlus services, such as customized employee training services, mass hiring, applicant screening, and Rapid Response services for businesses faced with layoffs. Students can also have the benefit of having the JobsPlus mobile come to their school for Ready to Work testing and certification, and various other job preparation or at risk youth services. In the event of an emergency, the mobile will be on hand to assist with emergency aid and unemployment applications, in addition to critical job placement services.
