Inaugural Destin Seafood Festival Golf Classic Offers $25,000 Hole-In-One Prize and Sunset Cocktail Party

Destin, FL, Aug. 25 - The Inaugural Destin Seafood Festival Golf Classic, the premier amateur golf tournament on Northwest Florida's Gulf Coast, offers competitive golfers a chance for a $25,000 hole-in-one prize and a Sunset Cocktail Party at Louisiana Lagniappe.

This 2-day tournament will tee off on Sept. 11, at Indian Bayou Golf Club. Two-person teams are $550, which includes two days of tournament play, as well as one practice round, breakfast and lunch each day, and a cocktail party to kick off the event.

"With so many golfers in our area we wanted to create something that was different than the normal chamber golf tournament," said Shane Moody, Destin Area Chamber President and CEO. "Those tournaments still have their place, but we wanted something competitive that will give the local golfers something fun, while at the same time hopefully draw golfers from throughout the region that will come in for the weekend.

The tournament features a best ball format and will be flighted at the completion of Friday’s play. Saturday tee times will be assigned after flighting. Prizes will be awarded in all flights.

This tournament will begin the celebration of the 31st Annual Destin Seafood Festival, set for Oct. 2-4, on the Destin harbor.

"We felt tying it to the Seafood Festival was a perfect fit," said Moody.
