Ribbon Cutting Celebrates the City of Destin Harbor District Sign

     Destin, FL, Sept. 3 - On Sept. 1, Destin Area Chamber of Commerce staff and ambassadors gathered for a ribbon cutting to celebrate the unveiling of the City of Destin Harbor District sign by the Destin Forward Class of 2009.

     The new sign will be located in the median in front of Marler Bridge to alert drivers that they’re entering the harbor district. The sign was the community project for the Destin Area Chamber’s leadership program, Destin Forward. The project involved raising money and donations contributed by area individuals and businesses, including Destin Rotary Club and Silver Sands Factory Stores. To help raise funds the following restaurants participated in the class’s Restaurant Tour: Carrabba’s Italian Grill, Guglielmo’s La Fiamma Italian Grill, Tommy Bahama’s Tropical Café and Emporium, and Tropical Smoothie Cafe.

     “The objective of the sign is to increase awareness and drive traffic to our beautiful harbor area,” said Angela Triplett of the Howard Group, a Destin Forward 2009 graduate.
