Board of Directors Extends Chamber President’s Contract

     Destin, FL, Jan. 14 - The Destin Area Chamber of Commerce would like to announce its Board of Directors has extended the contract of President and CEO Shane A. Moody, IOM, CCE, for the third time.

     “Shane brings talent, professionalism, and leadership to his role as CEO of the Destin Area Chamber of Commerce. Over the years, he has improved the role of the Chamber with the city, county, and state,” explained the Chamber’s 2009 Chairman of the Board Karen McCarthy, Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union.

     Moody was hired as President and CEO in late 2003. He previously served as the President and CEO and the Vice President of Membership at the Clayton County (Ga.) Chamber of Commerce and the Manager of Membership, Small Business, and Government Affairs at the Laurens County (S.C.) Chamber of Commerce.

     “In these hard economic times, the Chamber, under his direction, has had many successful events, maintained its membership numbers, and even finished 2009 in the black. Taking all this into consideration, the Board wanted to extend Shane’s contract, so he can continue to advance the Destin Area Chamber to the next level of success,” said McCarthy.
