Golfers Invited to Enjoy NW Florida Gulf Coasts Premier Amateur Tournament; Portion of the Proceeds to Benefit Destin Fishermans Fund
Destin, FL, June 18 - The premier tournament for the Northwest Florida Gulf Coast, the Seafood Festival Golf Classic, returns to the Indian Bayou Golf Course on Sept. 10-11. A portion of the proceeds from this years event will benefit the Destin Fishermans Fund.
The Seafood Festival Golf Classic is designed to draw competitive players from across our region for two days of play. The format will be two-man teams, best ball. The tournament will be flighted at the completion of the first round. The Destin Fishermans Fund helps the mates from Destins charter boat fleet and their families during a time when the fleet is being hit with elevated fuel prices, fishing restrictions, and, now, the oil spill. "Destin was founded by hard-working fishing families. They are the ones who created the history and heritage that we celebrate here. Anything we can do as a chamber and as a community to help them when there is a need, its just something we should do," said Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody, CCE, IOM. For more information or to reserve your playing spot or sponsorship, please contact the Chambers Director of Events Risa Garner at (850) 837-2711 x2 or rgarner@DestinChamber.com.
