Rivals Radio to Broadcast Live from Destin Sept. 9-10

     Destin, FL, Aug. 30 - Rivals Radio, a national satellite radio program available on Sirius 122 and XM 143, will broadcast live from Destin on Sept. 9-10, to promote the 2nd Annual Destin Seafood Festival Golf Classic and the 32nd Annual Destin Seafood Festival.

     “Bringing Rivals Radio in will give us a chance to let people in our drive markets know that we’re open for business. All the guys at Rivals love Destin, and vacation here during the year, so it’s a great fit,” said Chamber President and CEO Shane Moody. “With the Southeastern Conference and Atlantic Coast Conference following they have, it’s the perfect opportunity for us to broadcast live that Destin is here and open for business. Not to mention that we’ll get to talk college sports!”

     Hosts Bill King and Chris Childers, along with Jason Ogg, will broadcast from Fisherman’s Wharf on Thursday, Sept. 9, and from Indian Bayou Golf Club on Friday, Sept. 10. Show hours are 6 – 11 a.m. Central.

     The Friday broadcast will coincide with the Chamber’s monthly Business to Business Breakfast, sponsored in September by Trustmark National Bank. Then, the 2nd Annual Seafood Festival Golf Classic tees off from Indian Bayou with a shotgun start at 1 p.m. This 2-day tournament is designed to draw competitive players from across our region for two days of play. The format will be two-man teams, best ball.

     The 32nd Annual Destin Seafood Festival takes place the following weekend, Sept. 17-19, with headliners Starship Starring Mickey Thomas and LOVERBOY. It will also feature fresh local seafood from some of the area’s best restaurants, arts & crafts, a kids’ area, and more.
