BIA is seeking entries for APEX Awards – Deadline Friday, Sept. 3
Each year, the BIA holds its prestigious APEX Awards. APEX stands for Achievement in Professional Excellence. At this event, BIA members and members of the general public compete in different categories; Kitchen, Bath, Special Purpose Room, New Construction (Residential and Commercial), Architecture, Outdoor Living/Landscaping, Home Design Elements, Interior Design, Remodeling, Energy Efficiency, Community Design and Marketing. Requirement of entries:
Projects must have been completed August 2009 thru August 2010
Entries are $200 for BIA members and $300 for non-members
All entries are due by Friday, Sept. 3
Award Event is Thursday, Oct. 14, at Fergusons showroom in Miramar Beach.

Krispy Kreme’s Drive for 45
Krispy Kreme has once again partnered with Victory Junction, a camp located in Randleman, N.C., to provide life-changing experiences to children with serious illnesses and life-threatening medical conditions, free of charge. It hopes to sponsor one child for a full session of camp ($2,500 value). The campaign runs Sept. 6 – Oct. 20. Customers will be encouraged to make in-store donations at the registers, leave change in the VJ Tire that will be positioned close to the cash register, and participate in other activities, including a weekly raffle of a special Krispy Kreme Goody Bag.

Individual Tickets for All National Shows Now on Sale at Mattie Kelly Arts Center Season, New Discounts & Family Shows
Individual tickets are now available for all national touring Broadway and Artist shows that will appear in the 2010-2011 season at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center at Northwest Florida State College in Niceville. Tickets range from $20 to $50 per show and may purchased by phone, through the website, or in-person. New this year, two national shows – “The Diary of Anne Frank” and “Dance Theater of Harlem”-- feature a discounted student ticket for NWF State College students and any student age 18 and younger. The center also features a $5 off discount for groups of 10 or more.

Dine Out to Benefit S.O.C.K.S.
Save Our Cats and Kittens (SOCKS) and T.G.I. Fridays Restaurant on Mary Esther Cut-off have teamed to give diners a way to help SOCKS in continuing to feed and house homeless cats and kittens while you enjoy a free appetizer. Between now and Oct. 1, anyone who brings in a bag of cat or kitten food or a bag of litter (worth $8 or more) will be given a free appetizer.
