Celebrity Charity Lunch to Benefit Relay for Life
Join Destin celebrity waiters at Bonefish Grill on Thursday, April 22, to benefit the American Cancer Society’s Relay for Life. Two seatings are available: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. or 12:30 – 1:30 p.m. Tickets are available for a $15 donation. March is Red Cross Month
With March proclaimed as Red Cross Month, American Red Cross of Northwest Florida would like to recognize and thank the supporters and volunteers whose efforts enable the Red Cross to respond to disasters down the street, across the country, and around the world. Red Cross Month is a great time for people to get involved with the Red Cross, such as donating blood; signing up for a CPR, first aid or another Red Cross course; giving a financial gift that can really save the day when the next disaster strikes, or getting involved as a volunteer. Deadline Fast Approaching for BBB Foundation Ethics Awards
With a less than month until the application deadline, your Better Business Bureau® Foundation of Northwest Florida is still accepting nominations and entries for the fifth annual Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics, Customer Service Excellence Award, and Student Ethics Scholarship. The application deadline for all awards is March 19. Award recipients will be recognized at a series of luncheons to be held in May. 2010 Children's Summer Fun Guidebook
The United Way of Okaloosa and Walton Counties is gathering information on children's summer programs for the "2010 Children's Summer Fun Guidebook," designed to help parents find safe, fun, and educational daytime summer activities for children. The criteria for the guidebook includes: Programs offered to youth ages 4 - 18 during the months of June, July, and August. UWF Announces Archaeology Month Event March 20
March is Florida Archaeology Month. Join the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN) for the 3rd annual Archaeology Month Celebration Event. This year’s Celebration Event is on Saturday, March 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the FPAN Coordinating Center, 207 East Main Street, Pensacola, next to the Fish House in downtown Pensacola. The event is free and open to the public. Family-friendly activities will include demonstrations, hands-on activities, arts and crafts, artifact identification, Destination Archaeology!
