First Destin Area Restaurant Week to be Feb. 1 - 7
Destin locals are encouraged to enjoy tasty dishes from across the Destin area during the first Destin Area Restaurant Week on Feb. 1 – 7, 2010.
Restaurants will showcase signature and new dishes on affordable prix fixe menus. Participating restaurants include 790 on the Gulf, Boathouse Oyster Bar, Beach Walk Henderson Park, Bud & Alley's Pizza Bar, Bud & Alley's Taco Bar, Bud & Alley's Waterfront Restaurant, Café Thirty-A & Fishbone Room, Cantina Laredo, Commander’s Palace, Copper Grill, Fisherman's Wharf, Fudpucker’s Beachside Bar & Grill, Hard Rock Café, Landry's Seafood House, Lin's Asian Cuisine, Louisiana Lagniappe, Outback Steakhouse, Papa John's, Pompano Joe's, Rick's Crab Trap, Ruth's Chris Steak House, The Back Porch, Tommy Bahama's Restaurant & Barand Tropical Smoothie Café. Okaloosa County Chambers to Host Multi Chamber Expo & Taste of Okaloosa on Feb. 24
The chambers of commerce in Okaloosa County are partnering to bring their members the biggest marketing and networking opportunity around - the Multi-Chamber Business Expo & Taste of Okaloosa County. The event, hosted by the Destin Area, Greater Fort Walton Beach, and Niceville Valparaiso Chambers of Commerce, will take place Wednesday, Feb. 24, from 4 - 7 p.m., at the Emerald Coast Conference Center. It will be open to the public to attend at no charge.
Sponsors include Bit-Wizards Custom Software Solutions, Northwest Florida Daily News, and Simple HR. All sponsor booths for this Chamber have been sold. Approximately 40 participant booths per chamber will be sold. Participants so far include Allstates Employer Services, Inc., Army Aviation Center Federal Credit Union, Chartwell Hospitality, Complete Signs, Destin Commons, Destin Land & Title, Douglass Chiropractic, Emerald Grande/The Spa at Emerald Grande, FastSigns, Gulf Coast Office Products, Gulf Coast Shutter, Junior League of the Emerald Coast, Life's A Beach Publications, Pinnacle Insurance, Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, Shalimar Pointe Country Club, University of West Florida, and Vision Bank. 5th Annual Old-Fashion Destin Fish Fry
Join the Destin community on Feb. 27, for an old-fashion fish fry at the Destin History & Fishing Museum. It will be from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Live music will be provided by Cadillac Willy. Advanced tickets are $10, and tickets the day of the event are $12. The menu includes fried grouper, hush puppies, cole slaw, and baked beans, all cooked by an “ole Destin native” Lloyd Taylor.
