Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northwest Florida (BBBSNWFL) is excited to bring over its Big Scoop event to Fort Walton Beach at Liza Jackson Park on Aug. 14, 2021, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Big Scoop, an annual fundraising event since 2017, is an ice cream party hosted by BBBSNWFL to benefit its mentoring programs from Pensacola to Panama City. The Big Scoop Drive-Thru was recently held in Escambia County, and BBBSNWFL is excited to bring this event to Okaloosa County as an in-person event.
Guests can expect to receive ice-cream cups and novelty popsicles provided by Damien’s Enterprises, Inc; Dippin’ Dots supplied by Dippin' Dots Okaloosa; Cake pops provided by Starbucks; Ice cream toppings; Balloon art by Bobby Dewrell; Lemonade and sweet surprises by Chick-Fil-A; Fort Walton Beach Fire Department will be attending with the fire truck. Ocean City-Wright Fire Control District will have the fire engine with fire prevention material and the smokehouse: a tool to educate children on what to do should their house be on fire. Okaloosa County Sherriff’s Office will have the Crime Prevention Unit as well as the K-9 unit and a few other surprises. On top of all the sweet treats, there will be face painting, arts and crafts, and more!
Entry fee to the public is $10 per person. Kids under 12 years old get in free. Matches in the program are admitted free with proof of their Magic Card. Tickets may be purchased HERE
. This event benefits BBBSNWFL. The money raised will support the agency’s seven programs and support current and new matches. Each time BBBSNWFL pairs a child with a role model, they start something incredible: a one-to-one relationship built on trust and friendship that can blossom into a future of unlimited potential.
