Join Sacred Heart Rehabilitation to discover ways to improve bone health through strength exercise and diet on Friday, June 21 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. at Sacred Heart Rehabilitation at Somerby Assisted Living in Santa Rosa Beach.
Physician Assistant Chuck Kuebler and physical therapist Leslie Moskal will speak on bone health and fragility fracture risks – covering ways to improve bone health discuss risk factors related to lifestyle, medications, smoking and osteoporosis. Attendees will learn to identify the signs and symptoms of a fractured hip and discuss post- fracture concerns, decreased mobility and strength, pain management, risk of infection, increased fall risk, pneumonia risk, blood clots, and fall prevention strategies to reduce fracture risk.
A good osteoporosis management plan will help to strengthen bones, especially for persons at high risk for fracture. Doing all you can to make sure you are strengthening bones, getting the right kind of exercise, and getting enough calcium and vitamin D in your diet are all important parts of a successful osteoporosis management plan.
The Sacred Heart Rehabilitation Center provides a wide spectrum of specialized rehabilitative care and education for patients that have conditions affecting their overall balance and mobility. A multidisciplinary team of physical therapy experts work together to strengthen and preserve mobility, while educating the patient and preventing future falls and injuries.
