The Friends Guild of the Destin Library will host an afternoon presentation by the “Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance”, on Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 2 p.m., at the library. This program is free and open to the public.
The Choctawhatchee Basin Alliance of Northwest Florida State College, also known as “CBA”, was first created by concerned citizens along with representatives from local, state and federal agencies to discuss environmental quality and economic development. Over 20 years later, CBA has become well established in the Walton-Okaloosa county area educating the public on local resources and working with governing agencies on issues of concern. CBA’s overarching goal is to promote swimmable, fishable waterways to protect our precious local resources and economy. Through its four program areas of education, restoration, monitoring and research, CBA reaches visitors, locals, youth and retirees.
