The one-night-only evening of live music on Friday, July 12 is an exclusive benefit for Emerald Coast Theatre Company
Miramar Beach, Fla. (June 26, 2019) — Peace. Love. Music. Tune into the music of the ‘60s and take a musical journey with Emerald Coast Theatre Company (ECTC).
On Friday, July 12, at 7:30 p.m. ECTC will convert its performance space at 560 Grand Boulevard in Miramar Beach into a psychedelic music hall for a special one-night-only performance of “’67 The Summer of Love Show.”
New York-based dynamic entertainment duo Jordan Wolfe and Michelle Dowdy take you on the ultimate ‘60s rock journey.
Some say 1967 was the greatest year ever for music. They called it “the Summer of Love.” Now, Jordan and Michelle lovingly recreate the iconic songs that exploded across the airwaves that incredible summer. This energetic tribute will pay homage to the likes of The Beatles, Janis Joplin, The Doors, Jimi Hendrix, The Monkees and more.
“They rock, they belt, they harmonize, and breathe new life into the songs no one will ever forget,” said ECTC producing artistic director Nathanael Fisher. “If you love classic rock music, this is one special summer evening you will not want to miss.”
Michelle Dowdy is a MAC Award winner and a nightlife favorite who first took New York by storm as Tracy Turnblad in the Broadway production of “Hairspray,” racking up over 400 performances. She has gone on to play the role internationally and with Dallas Theatre Center. She also co-conceived and starred in the West Coast premiere of the circus/burlesque musical extravaganza “The Girlie Show. “Her acclaimed debut solo album “A Brass Act” is available on iTunes.
Jordan Wolfe is an actor/singer as well as a composer and arranger. His New York credits include lead roles at New York Classical Theatre, Musicals Tonight, Theatre for a New City, Prospect Theatre, The Duke Theatre on 42nd, Theater Row and NYMF. He was recently in the original Off-Broadway casts of two acclaimed new musicals: “Neurosis” and “Night of the Living Dead: The Musical,” which he also wrote. Wolfe has appeared on stage at more than 15 regional theaters, and his TV credits include “Law & Order” and “S.P.L.A.S.H” for PBS.
