    Destin Chamber Annual Awards

Destin, Fla., Dec. 14 – On Dec. 13, 200 Destin Chamber members gathered to celebrate the successes of 2018 and honor outstanding community members.

The Annual Holiday Party & Awards Gala presented by Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital was held at Embassy Suites Destin-Miramar Beach, and the awards were presented by Chamber Chairman Bob Perry (second from right), Destin Commons.

For going above and beyond in service to the Destin Chamber and the community, Ken Wampler (second from left), Newman-Dailey Resort Properties, Inc., received the James D. Neilson, Sr., Chairman’s Award for Volunteer Service.

Introducing Bill Lindsley (left), SimpleHR, as Business Person of the Year, Perry said, “this year’s winner has built his business by hard work and community service over the years. His company’s commitment to the customer-first philosophy lights their path.”

Sara Tallent (third from right), daughter of the late Ann Gibson, helped present the Ann Gibson Community Service Award, named in honor of her mother, to Jerry Sullivan (third from left) of Century 21 Blue Marlin Pelican.  Sullivan believes in taking care of the community and giving back to the place in which he lives, works, and plays.

Bill Head (right), this year’s Paul Woolman Ambassador of the Year, works tirelessly as an ambassador to ensure the events and activities in which he is involved flow seamlessly for those in attendance.

“He has influenced the success of the chamber in every way possible,” explained Perry of Head’s commitment to the chamber and its ambassador program.
Perry also recognized the Chamber’s outgoing board members, including Hayward Dykes of Hand Arendall Harrison Sale, LLC; Pam Martin of Gulf Power; and Brock Rice of Progress Bank.

After the awards presentation, guests crowded onto the dance floor, as the Emerald Coast’s premier party band The Moos Bros. took the stage.

Thank you to all event sponsors that contributed greatly to the event’s success, including title sponsor Fort Walton Beach Medical Center and Twin Cities Hospital; entertainment sponsor Destin Commons; and cocktail napkin sponsor Okaloosa Gas.
