Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation Emerald Ball Raises $172K for New Medical Equipment

The Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation announced today that the Emerald Ball raised approximately $172,000 benefiting Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast’s acquisition of a state-of-the-art CT scanner for children and adults.

The Foundation held the Emerald Ball at the Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa on Saturday, February 4, where guests enjoyed a curated dinner with filet and grouper, dancing to Mr. Big and the Rhythm Sisters, Epic Photo Booth, a wine and bourbon pull. The black-tie event was presented by Howard Group, Grand Boulevard Sandestin Town Center and Silver Sands Premium Outlets. There were 275 guests including community members, physicians and supporters of the hospital in attendance.

"For the last few years, our focus has been to raise funds for leading imaging technology for individuals and families who turn to us in their time of need," said Adrienne Maygarden, President of the Ascension Sacred Heart Foundation. "We are excited and grateful that the new CT Scanner is now installed at Ascension Sacred Heart Emerald Coast.”

The scanner is considered one of the industry’s fastest and most versatile scanning modes, allowing an entire adult chest, abdomen and pelvis study to be conducted in approximately one second, meaning  patients don’t need to hold their breath. This technology will be ideal for patients who have difficulty remaining very still during a scan. It represents a notable leap forward in CT technology, and exemplifies the hospital’s commitment to excellence.
