A little-known fact about local tech company Bit-Wizards
is that it manages and operates a SaaS (software as a service) application called TalkingParents. 2021 has been a massive year of growth and innovation for both companies.
TalkingParents is a leading co-parenting application supporting separated/divorced parents worldwide. The communications platform was founded by resident Stephen Nixon while running his criminal defense and family law practice.
“I created TalkingParents as a solution for my own clients when I was practicing family law in Florida. Almost every case I dealt with involved poor communication between co-parents and a lack of reliable records.”
-Stephen Nixon, Founder
In 2010, Nixon decided to take matters into his own hands. With the help of a friend with some web development experience, TalkingParents.com
Stephen bootstrapped the original web application that went from a prototype to a working model. After gaining 1,000 customers and proving there was a market for the application, Stephen realized he needed to scale the business and the technology. He sought out business, software, marketing, and infrastructure expertise with Bit-Wizards. Together they formed a new company, Monitored Communications, LLC, and re-engineered TalkingParents from the ground up to scale nationally and internationally.
Fast forward a decade later, TalkingParents proudly offers the most robust tools and service in the co-parenting communications realm. The focus of TalkingParents is to provide the very best co-parenting and communication features to alleviate some of the hardships co-parents face. The service aims to decrease conflict while enhancing privacy, security, and accountability, making the lives of co-parents and children better.
Court-approved since 2010, TalkingParents is also a go to solution for courts and legal professionals across the country. Judges, lawyers, mediators, court-appointed guardians, and other court professionals recommend TalkingParents. Its value is in the ability to manage high-conflict situations, keep children protected, and have one, complete, unalterable record of all communications.
“I love having TalkingParents to offer as a solution to clients who have difficulties communicating with their co-parent. TalkingParents allows each parent to ensure the other is notified of appointments (using the calendar), timesharing exchange details, and to share general information about their children. It works to hold parents accountable without fear of altercations due to their communications.”

In 2021 alone, TalkingParents released a series of cutting-edge features, including Video Calling, making it the only co-parenting app offering the ability to make recorded audio and video calls. TalkingParents also saw exponential member growth, eclipsing the half a million-user mark. As this growth continues, the Bit-Wizards and TalkingParents teams look to add 10+ employees following their relocation to a new headquarters building in the Fort Walton Beach Commerce & Technology Park.
