Boys & Girls Clubs Name Youth of the Year
Congrats to Choctawhatchee High School senior Jacinda Rassa for being named Youth of the Year by the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast. The Youth of the Year title is a prestigious honor bestowed upon an exemplary young person in recognition of leadership, service, academic excellence and dedication to live a healthy lifestyle. Now in its 73rd year, the Youth of the Year program honors our nation’s most awe-inspiring young people on their path to great futures and encourages all kids to lead, succeed and inspire. Jacinda will go on to contend for the Florida Youth of the Year title and a $5,000 college scholarship from Boys & Girls Clubs of America.
A member of the BGCEC for seven years, Jacinda was previously named Girl of the Year. She currently serves as president of the Keystone Club and is actively involved in suicide prevention projects. This young community builder also coordinated a drive to take personal hygiene kits to victims of Hurricane Michael in Panama City two weeks after the devastating storm. Jacinda represents the Fort Walton Beach Teen Center as well as the BGCEC as a shining example of everything this prestigious annual award represents.
