The Boys & Girls Clubs of the Emerald Coast (BGCEC) hosted the first of two supply drives on Friday, April 24, in preparation of reopening. The organization is collecting donations of cleaning supplies, gloves, masks, hand sanitizer and non-perishable snacks.
“As our state begins to look at options for reopening venues and services, the BGCEC is preparing to create a safe environment for our members and staff to return to,” Shervin Rassa, CEO for the BGCEC, said. “We are hosting a supply drive to help bridge the gap between what the Clubs can currently afford and what is necessary to ensure we are maintaining safe practices.”
The second supply drive will take place on Friday, May 1, from 1 - 5 p.m. Supplies may be dropped off at the following Clubs:
Fort Walton Beach Club | 923 Denton Blvd., Ft. Walton Beach, FL 32547
Pensacola Club | 2751 North H Street, Pensacola, FL 32501
DeFuniak Springs Club | 435 N. Ninth Street, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32433
South Walton Club | 427 Greenway Trail, Santa Rosa Beach, FL 32459
The BGCEC is working on a plan to safely reopen some Clubs with limited services on May 4. Spots will be filled on a first come, first served basis to current Club members whose parents are working in essential jobs. Due to social distancing practices, Clubs will serve at a limited capacity. Club families who would like to receive services must submit a member application survey on the organization’s website
