• Demetrius Fuller Joins ECCAC Board of Directors

Demetrius Fuller has joined the board of directors of the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center (ECCAC).

As the Music & Artistic Director of Sinfonia Gulf Coast, our region’s only full professional symphony orchestra, Fuller has been dedicated to serving the community for many years through education, entertainment and community philanthropy. Fuller has previously served on the boards of the Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, Cultural Arts Alliance, Okaloosa Arts Alliance and Alaqua Animal Refuge. As well, he serves as a grant panelist for the Florida Division of Cultural Affairs and as a board member for New York City-based Musicians for Harmony.

Fuller commented, “I am thrilled to join such an important institution that helps safeguard the welfare of children in need throughout Northwest Florida. Julie Porterfield and her great team work tirelessly to ensure that ECCAC continues to provide safety and critical services to abused children in our region. It will be an honor to assist them to continue their mission.”

ECCAC provides services in a child-friendly environment to help identify, treat and support children in abusive situations. The non-profit organization helps prevent child abuse through education, protects child victims from future abuse, and provides resources to restore the lives of the impacted child and the child’s family. With a Center in Okaloosa County and the Pierce Family Center in Walton County, they house representatives from the Florida Department of Children and Families, Child Protection Team, State Attorney’s Office, local law enforcement, licensed mental health counselors, and ECCAC’s staff and volunteers. ECCAC has provided more than 170,000 services to over 15,000 children at no cost in the past 20 years.
