On Friday, June 4, 2021, J.Leon Gallery + Studio, the area's newest fine art gallery, celebrated one year in business. The gallery welcomed more than 90 art enthusiasts to celebrate the big night. During the event, Visit South Walton's 2019 Artist of the Year, Jenna Varney, revealed her anniversary painting, “The Perfect Anniversary” a 36” x 48” acrylic painting. More than six consecutive months in the making, this one-of-a-kind piece was inspired by a beautiful McCaskill and Company diamond necklace. A live artist painting by Joan Vienot continued throughout the evening. Visitors also enjoyed champagne, wine, and delicious food by The Board Chef.
"What a year this has been and how fortunate we are to have been able to be a part of the community- bringing arts to everyone. We are so glad to have been able to work with our wonderful artists and so thankful for all of our patrons. It has been so great to be able to have a space for artists and creatives to express themselves- and we look forward to bringing even more arts to our community." - Jason Lindblad, Owner & Artist, J.Leon Gallery + Studio
Over the last year, the gallery has represented 18 artists, both local and regional, had 388 total pieces of art cycle through the gallery, held 8 total Sip N' Strolls for visitors to enjoy, taught a total of 19 ceramics classes by Ceramicist, Megan Patterson, and used more than 925 pounds of clay.
