City of Destin Recognizes Nick Coleman as its 2015 Employee of the Year
The City of Destin recently awarded Nick Coleman, recreation supervisor, the 2015 Employee of the Year Award, the city’s top staff honor. Coleman was presented the award at the city’s annual Christmas Party and will receive recognition for his accomplishment from the city council at the Jan. 4 council meeting. Coleman began working for the city in the Parks & Recreation Department in May 2003, as a recreation assistant intern.
Children in Crisis Thanks Coins for a Cause
Children in Crisis (CIC) presented a “thank you” to Destin Commons for a recent $10,000 donation from its “Coins for a Cause” program. CIC will use the donation to feed, clothe, and provide a home to the children living at the CIC Neighborhood. TOPS’L Beach & Racquet Resort Earns Two Awards for Tennis Facilities
Wyndham Vacation Rentals announced that TOPS’L Beach & Racquet Resort, a property managed by its ResortQuest brand, won two recent awards for its tennis facilities. TOPS’L was voted “Best Tennis Facility” by the readers of Destin Magazine and “Tennis Facility Grand Champion” in the “Perfect in South Walton Awards,” hosted by Visit South Walton. The resort is not a stranger to tennis-related awards, as the property has made the Tennis Resorts Online (TRO) list for best tennis resorts and camps every year since its inception. Previous local awards include “Best Tennis Club” in the “Finest on the Emerald Coast Awards,” hosted by Northwest Florida Daily News in 2015, and “Best Tennis Facility” by the readers of Emerald Coast Magazine in 2013.
Hilton Sandestin Makes Cvent’s List of 100 Most Popular USA Meeting Resorts
Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa was announced as one of Cvent’s 100 most popular resorts in the U.S.A, according to meeting and event booking activity in the Cvent Supplier Network. Cvent operates one of the world’s largest global marketplaces for group meetings business. Properties chosen to receive this honor were selected from a total of more than 3,500 qualifying properties based on a combination of quantitative metrics and third party review scores, some of which included amenities, meeting space, number of rooms, volume of meetings, and room nights booked.

Century 21 Real Estate Expands its Presence with Local Luxury Brokerage
Century 21 Real Estate LLC, the iconic brand and franchisor with the largest global network in the residential real estate industry, announced that it is expanding its US presence with the affiliation of Blue Marlin Realty Group, a prominent luxury brokerage in the Northwest Florida Panhandle. Led by co-owners Johnathan Hughes and Jerry Sullivan, Blue Marlin Realty Group will now operate as CENTURY 21 Blue Marlin and provide residential real estate services to homebuyers and sellers from the pristine beaches of Pensacola to the emerald waters of Panama City.
Covenant Hospice Launches New Brand, Expands Services
For more than 30 years, Covenant Hospice has been providing end-of-life care to Northwest Florida and South Alabama. Now, the not-for-profit organization is announcing its intention to expand services into new areas that will offer more care choices beyond traditional hospice services. In addition to establishing and announcing Covenant Care, a family of integrated healthcare services, Covenant will launch a new brand and logo at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, from the administration office, located at 5041 North 12th Ave., in Pensacola. A local brand launch event will also be held on Thursday, Jan. 14, at 10 a.m., at the Covenant Care office, located at 220 Eglin Parkway NE, in Fort Walton Beach.
