Meet Heather Parrish - Newest ECCAC Board Member

Heather Parrish recently joined the Emerald Coast Children’s Advocacy Center’s (ECCAC) Board of Directors.

A Miramar Beach resident with her family, Parrish is a real estate agent and investor specializing in income and luxury properties with Keller Williams Realty. Previously, she was a Registered Nurse working primarily in Critical Care in both Memphis, Tennessee and with Sacred Heart of the Emerald Coast here in Miramar Beach, Florida.

“My husband and I, along with our children, feel very connected to this area,” said Parrish. “We maintain close relationships with several people who are very involved with ECCAC and the organization’s positive impact on abused and neglected children. This is what has motivated me to become more involved, as well as my background as a nurse, real estate agent, wife and mother, that has given me true empathy and contributed to a number of positive outcomes. And now I can put these attributes to work for the good of children by serving on the ECCAC Board.”

In Memphis, Parrish volunteered with the YMCA’s YCAP program that served underprivileged children. Currently, she and her husband support multiple charitable organizations to include ECCAC, Impact 100, Make a Wish Foundation, Weston Wood Ranch, Destin Charity Wine Auction Foundation, Sinfonia Gulf Coast and Alaqua Animal Refuge.

Christen Cowgill, ECCAC Director of Development and Marketing, commented, “On behalf of ECCAC, we welcome Heather to our board. She will certainly be a blessing to our mission of helping children.”

ECCAC provides services in a child-friendly environment to help identify, treat and support children in abusive situations in Walton and Okaloosa Counties.  The Centers don’t house children, but house a multidisciplinary team of child protection personnel, prosecutors, law enforcement, DCF, therapists, ECCAC staff and volunteers. The 501-C-3 non-profit organization has provided more than 170,000 services at no cost to 15,000+ children over the past 23+ years.
