Paychecks for Patriots- Upcoming Job Fair

CareerSource Okaloosa Walton is excited to announce a job fair in support of Paychecks for Patriots (P4P). P4P is a statewide initiative that addresses the employment needs of transitioning service members, Veterans, and military spouses across the state of Florida by bringing together employers with current position openings and military-affiliated job seekers. CareerSource Okaloosa Walton (CSOW) will host a P4P job fair both virtually and in-person on Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. CST. The CSOW Fort Walton Beach center located at 409 Racetrack Road NE will host ten employers and community partners. These employers will also be available to participate virtually. Thus far, employers registered to participate in-person include Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Kratos, HX5, and Bevilacqua Research Corporation. Onward to Opportunity, a certification program for Veterans and military spouses, and Veterans Florida, a non-profit created by the State of Florida to help Veterans,
will also be on-site. 

“With social distancing still being a primary concern to so many individuals and military commands, we want to provide a virtual option. Having a virtual platform also allows Veterans who are out of the area access to employers. However, feedback from our recent virtual events has suggested that both job seekers and employers find value with in-person hiring events and feel safe doing so in a controlled environment, so we wanted to provide that option. Our overall goal is to best serve our community by safely connecting talent with business needs,” shared Sarah Ambriz, Director of Communications and Public Relations with CSOW. Ms. Ambriz and 14 other staff members with CSOW are Veterans themselves. Most other staff members have some military affiliation, and all look forward to hosting this event this year.

While P4P is an initiative tailored to transitioning service members, Veterans, and military spouses, this event is open to the public.
