Quilts of Love Donated to Children In Crisis
Each and every year, the members of Silver Threads Quilt Guild (STQG) work diligently to create charitable donations to help those in need in our area. At the November general membership meeting, STQG donated more than 50 beautiful handmade quilts just for the abused, neglected, and abandoned children living at the Children In Crisis Neighborhood located in Fort Walton Beach.
Ken Hair, President, and CEO, Children in Crisis, discussed how children progress through the CIC system. CIC has given a home to more than 950 children since 2008. In thanking the guild members for the quilt offerings, Hair stated, “Your hands did this and the children feel your love”.
Silver Threads Quilt Guild is a group of creative individuals of all ages and experience brought together through their love of fabrics, quilting, and sewing. Strong in our community, members utilize their talents to contribute to non-profit organizations serving those less fortunate.
