    Destin, Fla., Sept. 20 On Sept. 19, Yuga Sushi and Sake House celebrated a ribbon cutting with a Destin Chamber.

    Yuga Sushi and Sake House, formerly Simply Sushi, is proud to continue providing you the same delicious sushi you came to love at the new location near the fountain and playground area of Destin Commons.

    Executive Chef Sayam Junlakan, a native of Panama City Beach, is the mastermind behind the incredible offerings at Yuga Sushi and Sake House. After serving in the Navy, Sayam found his passion and enrolled in the renowned Johnson and Wales College of Culinary Arts in North Carolina, as well as Brown University. Upon graduation, he worked alongside legendary sushi master chef “Iron Chef” Masaharu Morimoto at Nobu in New York City. Morimoto invited Chef Sayam to join him at Tshukiji Restaurant in Osaka, Japan, to perfect his skills in the art of sushi.

    During the celebration, Chef Sayam informed the group that the secret to the flavorful cuisine is in the high-quality ingredients and the freshest seafood, something that is very important to him.

    Chef Sayam creates all of his own sauces from fresh fruits and vegetables, further enhancing the flavor and presentation of what he hopes is the best sushi in Destin.  If you don’t eat sushi, or even seafood, Yuga Sushi and Sake House has something for everyone, from mouth-watering chicken strips and Kobe beef to delectable desserts. The staff recommends everyone try the crème brulee and bananas beignet on their next visit. Pair it all with your choice of drinks, including sake, beer and wine.
