• Trees Destin & Destin Chamber Name Quarterly Landscaping Award Recipient

    Corporate Landscaping Award - Destin Commons

    Destin, Fla. (September 19, 2016) – Trees Destin, in conjunction with the Destin Chamber, recently announced and awarded the first ever Corporate Landscaping Award to Destin Commons. The award originates from a partnership between the local non-profit and the Destin Chamber. Each quarter, the organizations will receive nominations of businesses in the community, who are also Destin Chamber members, who have gone above and beyond to make their store and business landscaping fronts look exceptional. Each quarter, one business will be selected to receive the award, which includes an amazing sign for their store front, as well as a framed certificate to hang inside their establishment.
     
    Allen French, Executive Director and Founder of Trees Destin, recently awarded Bob Perry, of Destin Commons, and his staff with the award at the Destin Chamber luncheon on September 13.
     
    Trees Destin is a local 501(c)3 non-profit dedicated to improving the Emerald Coast's tree canopy and enhancing the area's beauty through planting, conservation and education. Founded in 2015, Trees Destin works to improve the Emerald Coast’s beauty through tree planting, protecting existing trees and education of the Emerald Coast’s residents to the many benefits of trees.
     
    The organization is a steward of the local resort, coastal environment and has already completed many signature projects in less than 2 years on the Emerald Coast. Successful projects to date include the Main Street median planting, Mattie Kelly Cultural Arts Village entrance planting, Holiday Isle planting, Destin Dog Park planting, Food For Thought Destin Center fruit tree planting, Habitat for Humanity of Okaloosa County new home planting, and the “Honor a Loved One” tree planting, just to name a few.
