What are Horizontal video formats?
One of the situations we encounter as marketers regards content creation and all that goes into it. We get a lot of questions from our clients regarding certain video formats. Regular horizontal videos, such as on YouTube videos, movies, and anything portrayed on a desktop screen, are at a wide format of 1920 x 1080 or 16:9 aspect ratio.
What are Vertical video formats?
Vertical screens, on the other hand, are at a narrow format of 1080 x 1920 or 9:16 aspect ratio. We are reaching an age now where content is being streamed through vertical formats. These formats include TikTok, Snapchat, and Instagram. Our clients see our regular videos in 1920 x 1080, really enjoy them, and wonder if they can turn the video into a vertical video.
How can we resolve this issue?
The problem with converting a horizontal video into a vertical video is that you can lose key information within the video. This key information can include graphics like phone numbers, pictures, and more that will be cut off from the video. It is in your best interests to always plan ahead and decide what types of videos you want on the day of filming.
