Children ages 6 to 12 years and their parents are invited to stop by the Destin Community Center on Friday afternoon, April 21, at 3 p.m. to celebrate EARTH DAY 2017 by participating in a program aimed at increasing the awareness about our world and how using our Okaloosa County recycling program (4 R’s, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle and Renew!) can positively affect the wildlife in our backyards and around the world. The program will include games, crafts and prizes.
Assisting in the program will be Nonie Maines of Nonie’s Ark Animal Encounters who will present “EDUtainment”, a one hour program using 7 small, live, exotic animals that have been “recycled” themselves. Assisting Nonie will be her crew: a parrot, turtle, toad, tarantula, snake, mammal (such as ferret, sugar glider or chinchilla) and even a hissing cockroach to round out her presentation.
This program is free and open to the public. No preregistration is required for this event.
